Drainage Work Built for St. Augustine's Water Table
St. Augustine is a straight run up US-1 or I-95 from our Palm Coast base, usually somewhere around a half hour depending on where in the city or St. Johns County the job sits. We work up there often enough that we know the pattern before we ever walk a property: this is old ground, close to the water, with a water table that sits high enough year-round that drainage isn't optional, it's structural.
Between the Matanzas and San Sebastian rivers, king tides, and a rainy season that dumps water faster than a lot of older lots were ever graded to handle, St. Augustine floods more often and more predictably than most of our service area. We get calls after every named storm from homeowners whose yards, driveways, or garage slabs took on water that never used to be a problem — usually because the original grading was done decades ago for a drier climate pattern than the one we're in now. Fixing it means French drains, catch basins, and regraded yards that actually move water toward the street or a retention area instead of letting it pool against the foundation.
A good amount of our St. Augustine work is for HOAs and property managers handling common areas — retention ponds that were sized for storms decades ago and need re-excavation, road shoulders that erode after every heavy rain, and community drainage systems that get clogged with silt faster here than almost anywhere inland. We also do plenty of work near the historic district and older in-town neighborhoods, where lots are tighter and existing hardscape means drainage work has to be planned carefully around what's already there, not just torn out and redone from scratch.
If your St. Augustine property floods, holds water, or you manage an HOA that's tired of patching the same drainage problem every hurricane season, we can walk the property and give you a fix that's built for how wet this ground actually gets.
